What Is Your Heart?

What Is Your Heart?
What is your Heart? I'm talking about your proverbial heart. The one that sometimes get's you into trouble or reduces you to happy tears. All you have to do is think back to that last crazy idea that you told your best friend you would like to try, if it weren't for bills or your age or your lack of time. I'm talking about your deepest desires. I believe God honors our desires, so says Ephesians 3:20. "Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us." If He's at work within me, and at work within you, then my guess is that we are literally a part of His work. So what does that mean to you?
My heart, if I really looked back as far as I could and thought about my true desires, and there are more than a few, music would be high on that list. I know that may not surprise you but it took influential people in my life, along with prayer and guts to follow that desire. Music sounds like the easiest job in the world, and I'll be the first to admit that sometimes it's not nearly as hard as some other jobs, but it takes a lot from you too. It is a daily sacrifice of privacy, of sleep, of familiarity, but if it's what you are made for and it's the language that you speak, it's worth it. I followed my heart down this road and there have been equal highs and lows. I keep thinking about Adam back in the garden. God have him that garden to tend and to grow. It was what he was made for. He got to name the animals, he got his girl, he got it all. It was entrusted to Adam to keep and protect. He made mistakes, some that affected us all, but he was committed to his garden. What is your heart? Is it asking you to adopt? Is it convicting you to forgive someone? Is it calling you to something more meaningful? What is your heart telling you?
